The O.P.P. had a very quiet night with nothing of interest to report for the past 24 hours.

Every year, all across this province, the Ontario Provincial Police deploys aircraft, helicopters, canine units and Emergency Response teams, mobile command posts and off road vehicles in an effort to search and find lost hunters.

The OPP would like to remind all hunters of a few helpful hints to ensure your safety and to assist us in finding either yourself or your loved one a little faster.

If you find yourself lost in the bush one of the first things to do is to stop and "hug a tree". Find one place where you can make some type of shelter with a fire and stay there. Eventually someone will report that you are overdue and the police will be called to start looking for you.
