Canada Post has issued a mail delivery disruption alert for Sault Ste. Marie, citing current weather conditions.

"The safety of our employees is our number one priority. A red service alert means that we are suspending delivery for the day and not sending our delivery agents out, as winter conditions have made it unsafe," the Canada Post notice states. "Delivery will resume once it is deemed safe to do so."

Canada Post encourages residents to ensure that sidewalks, steps and driveways are clear of ice and snow for safe mailbox access for mail carriers.
