Algoma University, established in Sault Ste. Marie in 1965, offers a wide range of degrees and certificates spanning the liberal arts, sciences, and professional disciplines. The University has grown its presence within the province of Ontario through the strategic development of campus locations in Brampton and Timmins. The University’s Sault Ste. Marie campus is located on the site of the former Shingwauk Indian Residential School. As such, Algoma was bestowed a Special Mission to cultivate cross-cultural learning between Indigenous populations and other communities.

We are excited to announce that we have recently made some innovative changes to our Human Resources (HR) Department, now known as the Department of People and Culture, to better reflect our mission and mandate. The Department of People & Culture is expanding and we are looking to hire like minded individuals who believe in a progressive approach to continuous improvement to further support and develop the talent of our current and future employee base while creating a healthy workplace culture for all.

Members of the People & Culture Department will put people first and will be guided by the seven grandfather teachings and our Special Mission. We are looking for dedicated, passionate professionals who bring empathy, knowledge and creativity to the work that they do.
